Overview documentation of the VetVerifi integration with Vetspire PIMS
Integration Overview:
VetVerifi is fully compatible with Vetspire. Once implemented, our integration will continuously sync updated vaccination information to the VetVerifi infrastructure for verification purposes, consistent with the defined endpoint access below via the Vetspire API. Refreshed vaccine data is sync'd with VetVerifi daily.
To get started with the VetVerifi integration, you'll need to first accomplish one task:
- Locate or create your API key in Vetspire.
Locating your API Key:
To either locate or create an API Key in Vetspire, navigate to More > Admin > Integrations > API Keys
- "More" is in a toolbar in the top of the page.
- "Admin" should have a Gear icon.
- "Integrations" is a section in the left sidebar of the page.
- "API Keys" should have a Key icon.
Note: you can either use an existing API Key or create a new API Key - your decision. Either option is compatible with VetVerifi.
Defined Endpoint Access:*
Below are the defined end points used in a curated data set via the Vetspire API, refreshed in VetVerifi each night. These endpoints are the only data that enters VetVerifi's application; we do not access or have visibility to any other data in Vetspire.

*IMPORTANT: Particularly with server-based, on-premise PIMS data extraction (but also the case with many cloud-based PIMS), it is common in the veterinary industry for a software provider to have unrestricted, ongoing access to ALL of the data in the PIMS, simply because there is no way to gate or control access. We believe this practice is outdated, inappropriate, and unethical. We're proud to say that all of our PIMS integrations are via curated, endpoint access only (designed in partnership with Bitwerx); meaning we do not have access or visibility into your full database within your PIMS. YOUR client data is YOUR client data - it is not for us to use.
Initial Sync with Vetspire:
Our initial PIMS sync is supported by Bitwerx, a veterinary data integrations company based in Lexington, KY that is commonly used for implementation support by veterinary software applications, including PetDesk, Vetstoria, Oliver, PetsApp, and others. The Bitwerx team will coordinate with the user that created a VetVerifi account to coordinate the initial PIMS sync.
Integration Maintenance:
Our team monitors your integration continuously and has internal alerting in place to ensure the integration is working properly. If we identify any issues, we'll reach out promptly.
