Below are the most common questions new users have when getting started with VetVerifi — from security and setup to data access and compliance.

What does VetVerifi cost?
VetVerifi accounts are free for veterinary clinics and pet service providers. Access to verified records and our data standards feature sets are paid plans. Partners using our API for programmatic access are billed according to usage.

Do pet owners need to create an account?
No. Pet owners are can be notified whenever a verification involving their pet occurs but do not need to register separately.

How secure is the platform?
VetVerifi uses bank-level encryption, permissions-based access, and activity logging for every verification. Only authorized, qualified organizations can perform verifications, and all activity is tracked for compliance.

What happens if a record isn’t found?
If VetVerifi can’t locate a record, the requesting organization sees a “Not Found” status. 

What qualifies as a “qualified organization”?
Any verified business or entity that requires proof of vaccination to serve pets — including boarding, grooming, daycare, training, apartment complexes, or municipalities.

Can my clinic opt out of verifications?
Yes. Clinics always retain control over which organizations are permitted to verify records and can adjust permissions anytime in their settings.
